18th Century Indian Armoured Helmet
The helmet of choice for the heavily armoured Indian warrior. Also known as a Khula Khud, this helmet is constructed entirely of steel. It features an adjustable face guard and is flanked by long chain mail providing the wearer with side & rear protection. There are plume holders on either side of the helmet, which would have held regimental or decorative feathers. The helmet is intricately decorated all over and much of its gold inlay remains.
