Early 18th Century Signed Fine Wootz Tulwar
Here we have a very fine quality Tulwar sword from the 18th Century. The hilt lavishly decorated with silver and two types of gold. The hilt is in style commonly seen in the north of India. The blade is made from high quality wootz steel. The edge has been mirror polished while the main body shows off dark wootz pattern, which gives this Tulwar real character. There is still some gold work to be seen on the blade and the inscription reads “ibrahim” the blade smith. Overall the sword is in great condition considering its age, a real fine example of a Tulwar sword.
